5 Ingredient Dessert

Chocolate hazelnut spread, peanut butter, and banana egg rolls

By Kristin VanSingel May 26, 2022

If you are looking to make a dessert that doesn't take too much time and only contains 5 ingredients, then these chocolate hazelnut spread, peanut butter, and banana egg rolls will hopefully become a family favorite.

Ingredients:

Egg roll wrappers

Chocolate hazelnut spread

Peanut butter

Banana

Peanut/Vegetable oil

Directions:

1. Take a banana and slice it into thirds.  Then with each third slice it into 4 layers (this way when you bite in the egg roll you won't get a big chunk of banana at a time).

2. Then lay out an egg roll wrapper like a diamond, not a square and take one of your fingers and rub water along the perimeter of the egg roll wrapper (this is needed in order to secure the egg roll wrapper)

3. Spread some chocolate hazelnut spread and peanut butter in the bottom third of your egg roll wrapper.

4. Place a third of banana on top of the chocolate hazelnut spread and peanut butter.

5. Then pick up the bottom part of the diamond and fold over the banana. Then take each side and bring into the center of the banana and then roll the egg roll up towards the top so that way the banana and spread is completely enclosed in the egg roll wrapper (roll this how you would roll a burrito).  You want to roll the egg roll as tight as you can that way extra oil doesn't get into the egg roll.

6. Once you roll up as many bananas as you like then place about two inches of oil in a saucepan and heat up just until it begins to create bubbles (you don't want the oil too hot, just hot enough to fry).  Then once you see the oil is heated up gently place two egg rolls into the oil and turn over as they start to brown.  Please note to be extremely careful when frying something in a pan and note that these egg rolls turn brown and crispy very quickly so do not take your eye off of them.

7. Once the egg rolls are crispy to your liking, remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to soak up any excess oil.  Allow them to cool for a couple minutes, cut them open at an angle and enjoy!
